Final Wednesday FM2 - Officially in progress Wed 29 Aug 2018 -Sponsored
2018-08-29 - FM2 at Municipal Parking Lot, Campbellsville & Merchant Streets, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Donna Jones, in pink on left, co-coordinator of the Farmers Market on the Square with one of FM2's most regular customers, Miss Victoria Browning Pike of Miss Victoria's Pampered Angus Ranch, in pink on right. If you still can't tell them apart, Miss Victoria is the incognito one, in dark glasses, who may earn the coveted Farmer's Market on the Square Gold Star for attendance to display on her forehead. It wouldn't be a complete day at FM2 without a chance to compare notes from town and from out-in-the-farmland. This is the final Wednesday FM2, in session today from 12pmNoon-5pmCT, today. Hurry on down while selections are best. - EW

Scenic Casey Co. KY: Green River Valley Separate Baptist Church
2018-08-29 - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. In the distance, it's easy to think one is re-passing the same churches twice or more in Casey County. It's those beautiful square-towers that, knowing no better, we call the "Casey County Style." The confusion occurred trying to negotiate the Rheber-to-Dunnville puzzle, even with the help of a cell-phone. Thought we were going by Salem United Methodist Church and had made a loop. But that wasn't the case. This particular architecture is found elsewhere - can't think of any extant church in Adair, but it does seem prevalent in Casey and other Bluegrass & Bluegrass-border counties. The style is most impressive with a really tall square tower on the Antioch Christian Church, 241 Antioch Church Road, Liberty, KY. Comments welcome. - EW
