A few days ago, Rita King from Casey County wrote a note proclaiming how confusing driving around Columbia is and suggesting a few signs - thank you for the feedback, Rita - the city needs to know where to invest improvement in communications for better traffic flow. In response to Rita's comment, Shannon Sexton sent in some possible sign ideas that could indicate "Historic Downtown", "Business District", "Industrial District", "Retail District" - and they could really help people unfamiliar with downtown. At around 12pmNoonCT, Larry Reliford's LR Dozing began clearing two residents owned by Columbia business developers Bobby & Euline Bowe, preparing the property for commercial zoning. The house in the upper right foreground is the former Robert & Mary Lee Taylor Home. Just beyond is the onetime home of educator K.I. Bomar, a friend and one of Bobby Bowe's former teachers. The total property is 1.4 acres. Mr. Bowe said that he will seek to have the property rezoned Commercial. He will then offer it for sale, he said, at a price he will determine. - EW.
