Not one guess on Mystery Photo ID 79559

This photo drew not one guess. Give up? Ok, here's the answer to "Mystery Photo ID 79559: Where in the 7 county area?" It was made on an August Sunday, so clear that driving into this popular public place provided a view with layers of green, then blue hills popping, one after the other, all the way to blue sky. The roofline is on the Dale Hollow State Dock tucked in beside the lake. It appeared as a mystery to me and became one of the ColumbiaMagazine.com mystery photos. The view, if there were no building there, would allow you to see Trooper Island on the other side of the lake. If you have yet to explore around the location, it's a recommended day trip. - LW

New book from Tompkinsville author Kimberly Bartley

Kimberly R. Bartley describes her latest novel, Go Forth and Multiply, as "mildly dystopian." It's a departure for the Christian author, whose two previous works are Christian fiction with elements of romance, and she's hoping readers will join her in pondering life and love from a different angle.
Go Forth and Multiply is available on Amazon and at select locations in Southcentral Kentucky, where the author resides with her family. In addition to writing, Kimberly Bartley enjoys reading, making quilts, and teaching.

Kentucky Color: Hearty Dandelion

This hearty dandelion is nestled in the crotch of a Redbud which is nestled in the Northernmost corner of Columbia's Downtown Square. The Downtown Square is the center of Columbia's Historic Business and Cultural District.
Downtown Columbia is currently experiencing a renaissance of sorts. Much investment has been made recently by numerous businesses to augment several existing, Downtown businesses. The renaissance has been on full display during the August and September "To The Nines", Downtown walk and shop events. These events brought hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people to Downtown to shop, to eat and maybe more importantly, to visit.
Downtown Property owners and potential entrepreneurs should take note; Downtown Columbia is back. Everyone wants it and they are willing to support it. They and indeed all of us want our vibrant, living and breathing Downtown to not just survive but to grow and prosper. The time is ripe for coffee shops, restaurants and Mom and Pop Shops. Shop local is not just a trend, it's a way of life.
