Bert Stanford Rosenbaum, Fairplay, KY

2018-11-12 - West Point, NY - Photo by Dave Rosenbaum.
Dave writes, J"A photograph taken from the 1940 West Point Class Annual. My Uncle Bert graduated from West Point in 1940 and served as a bomber pilot in the South Pacific during WW II. He never forgot his roots at Fairplay."

The text reads: "Bert Stanford Rosenbaum, Fairplay, KY. Rosy spent one day in a rock quarry back in Kentucky, and decided he would rather be a cadet. He came to West Point with two assets; a cast-iron body from a rough mold and a wealth of colorful stories. The academic course was the rope he had to climb, and he manhandled it every inch of the way. He specked it if he didn't understand it; so he specked it all. Rosy is rare as in steak or in Ben Jonson."

Two thumbs up for Goldie Locks and the Eleven Bears

2018-11-12 - Shelbyville - Photo by Linda Waggener, columbiamagazine.com.
Matilda Anne invited me to see her school play, "Goldie Locks and the Eleven Bears", so named in order for every student in the group to have a part. I gave the play two thumbs up, the students were all wonderful. On election day and right afterward, I was fortunate enough to spend time with both Tillie and her cousin Hailey Elizabeth and am already looking forward to a next visit! - Linda Waggener
