My Uncle Bert graduated from West Point in 1940 and served as a bomber pilot in the South Pacific during WW II. He never forgot his roots at Fairplay." The text reads: "Bert Stanford Rosenbaum, Fairplay, KY. Rosy spent one day in a rock quarry back in Kentucky, and decided he would rather be a cadet. He came to West Point with two assets; a cast-iron body from a rough mold and a wealth of colorful stories. The academic course was the rope he had to climb, and he manhandled it every inch of the way. He specked it if he didn't understand it; so he specked it all. Selections by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Fréderic Chopin will be part of the program. LaGrange is the fifteen year-old son of John and Paige LaGrange and is also a piano student of LWC Professor of Music Robert Reynolds. The program is free and open to the public. Matilda Anne invited me to see her school play, "Goldie Locks and the Eleven Bears", so named in order for every student in the group to have a part. I gave the play two thumbs up, the students were all wonderful.
