Update: found - Lost puppies on Hwy 206 outside of Columbia

Update - they're home! Ashley Neat writes, "My little girls puppies ran off tonight on Hwy 206, Columbia, when the gate was opened to feed them. They have never taken off before. We are asking if anyone does see them to give us a call at 270-250-4439. They answer to Tippy and Chloe. She is very worried and upset. Thanks."

Taylor County Bank gives a gift to help elementary students

CES Wings Express Director Doug Holmes, at left, receives a $150 donation from Taylor County Bank President/CEO Jim Miller IV and Vice President Leslie De Grez. Wings Express is a program to help students with homework and other activities. Students receive help with reading, math, science, technology, social skills and more. They also participate in activities to learn about nutrition.

Not appreciating snowflakes on nose and eyelashes/whiskers

Julie Andrews can sing all she wants to about "Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes..." but Blue the Cat says that is not one of his favorite things. Columbia awoke to a light snowfall that covered the ground with up to half an inch in some places, but roads were all passable and school was held on schedule.

The service will focus on the deep hope that we have in Jesus and will include meaningful music, hymns, and Scripture readings. Everyone is welcome!

Hardwick and Lasley close out terms at City Council meeting

Columbia Mayor Curtis Hardwick and City Councilman Craig Lasley each shared warm sentiments and thanked the community for their time in office during closing remarks of Monday’s December City Council meeting. Hardwick will be replaced by current City Council member Pam Hoots. The council will have two new additions in January - Sharon Payne and June Parson.
