Several attended the special called meeting of the Columbia City Council representing two sides of a potential Farmers Market roof grant application issue. Standing is Rena McCloud, RN, owner/administrator of the Ole Homeplace Adult Daycare Center of Columbia. The city is also home to her corporate headquarters for multiple other locations and her building borders the parking lot in question. She spoke on the need to protect the parking spaces needed for businesses like hers which utilize the parking lot across from the City Hall where FM2 locates on Wednesdays and Saturdays when produce is in season. A roof on the parking lot would block parking and inconvenience her employees and other businesses and organizations surrounding that lot.
