Evan Waggener, Columbia Magazine's resident Gravy Scientist, samples items at The Gravy Bowl, a fundraiser for Ashland's downtown event and revitalization organization, Ashland in Motion. The event is described as "a biscuit and gravy sampling event, featuring live music and a bar stocked with brunch favorites." The event is held the week after the Superbowl in the Ashland Train Depot, which has been beautifully renovated as a public event space.

Latticework puddle
 2019-02-09 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Amy. Spotted on a morning walk with Churchill the dog, this puddle froze in a most interesting pattern as the temperatures dropped quickly yesterday.
According to our Resident Expert on Things Natural and Frozen, Billy Joe Fudge, this happens when the water level drops faster than the surface can freeze, and can even occur on much larger scales.

ACMS FCA treated to lunch at McDonald's
 2019-02-09 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Mark Fudge. Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) students from Adair County Middle School were treated to lunch at McDonald's today for creating the highest number of boxes for Operation Christmas Child (OCC) from the Adair County School District.
Students are as follows (not in any particular order): Kylee Godsey, Madison George, Hailey Gadberry, Haley Walters, Trayton Stargel, Maggie Shirley, Gabby Salyers, Angel Jackson, Robert Hight, Danielle Sheridan, Lauren Grant, Alycia Delaplane, Gabby Zapata, Aidan Koetz, Mason Grant, Josalyn Massaway, Kathy Rowell, Tristan Sinclair, Tristen Keith, Blake Kelsay, and Madison Wooten.
