Watson will speak at Adair Public Library Genealogical meeting

Michael C. Watson, Adair County researcher, teacher, speaker, and writer, will speak at the next meeting of the Adair County Genealogical Society, Monday, March 4, 2019 at 5pmCT in the Adair County Public Library. The subject of the talk will be family and historical research using estate and probate records, including wills, inventories, estate sales lists, administrators and executors documents, and civil court case files. The program is geared to both the new researcher as well as the experienced genealogist and historian.

Noon Update: Adair County Roads Situation Report

As rainwater has receded we are left with overflow from Green River Lake, creating a back-up issue on Snake Creek Road at the Snake Creek Bridge (pictured). The bridge will remain closed until the lake levels are lowered.
Some of the lake access roads can be impacted also. L Hancock Road at the bridge is closed until repairs can be made.
Remember... TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN.

Water Beneath our Feet: Understanding Groundwater Flow in Taylor County and Southcentral Kentucky

Dr. Benjamin Tobin of the Kentucky Geological Survey from the University of Kentucky delivered a presentation entitled 'Water Beneath our Feet: Understanding Groundwater Flow in Taylor County and Southcentral Kentucky' on Monday at Lindsey Wilson College's Norma and Glenn Hodge Center for Discipleship.
The talk focused on ground water flow specifically from studies done at the Homeplace Farm in Taylor County. Over fifty students, faculty and staff as well as members of the community were in attendance. To learn more about the Kentucky Geological Survey visit https://www.uky.edu/KGS.
