Some of the prettiest Daffodils in the area wave in the heavy traffic at the corner of Burkesville and West Guardian Streets in Columbia. If memory serves, these are the result of volunteer grant writing, winning, followed by art work and planting downtown by Vonnie Kolbenschlag. 2018-19 ACHS Swim Team Awards Banquet 2019-04-10 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Fred Rowe. The second annual awards banquet of the Adair County High School Swim Team was held at the Holloway Wellness Center on the Campus of Lindsey Wilson College on April 9, 2019. The team had a very successful season in only their second year. The boys finished 4th in the region with Luke Rich and Garron Pearson qualifying for the state meet. The girls finished 11th in the region (with only two swimmers) with Camellia Pearson qualifying for state. Road funds spark debate at Fiscal Court meeting 2019-04-10 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Tiffany Kessler. The Adair County Fiscal Court April meeting saw a heated debate between all of the magistrates on how road funds should be divided and used throughout the county. The discussion went through a few different ideas on how to divide funds: miles per district, population per district, and simply dividing the funds seven ways to use at each magistrate's discretion. Ultimately the vote was for dividing the funds equally as of the new fiscal year which begins July 1.
