Cloudy morning brightened by Honeysuckle

There may be nearly 200 varieties of Honeysuckle, but the one I celebrate is the common wild version pictured here which has been a constant in every spring of my life. It winds and twists its way around fenceposts like this unique piece of art, and if you're game to pick one of the yellow or white blossoms, break off the end and suck out the sweetness, that's a bonus. - LW

Taking an hour out of their Tuesday, May 21, 2019 busy schedules for this morning's Columbia/Adair County Economic Development Authority Board meeting were Dean Adams, Anthony Janes, Roger Meadows with ACJE Gale Cowan. In attendance in addition to those pictured here were Chair Mark Dykes, Secretary Kinzey Rowe, Mayor Pam Hoots, Treasurer Ann Martin and Bobby Morrison, plus media representatives Sharon Burton and Linda Waggener.

Spring Concert goers packed the Columbia UMC

Adair County Schools music director Ginna Franklin, front center, said she was pleased with the turnout and felt that the kids did a great job. Performances were given by the Adair County Middle School mixed choir, the Adair County High School men’s ensemble and the Adair County high school women’s ensemble.
