Butterweed

Bill writes, "Packera glabella (formerly Senecio glabellus) is one of several plants with the common name butterweed, this one has also been called cressleaf groundsel and yellowtop. It is native to central and southeastern North America."

Angel Studer will be one of the Sopranos in the Concert

Angel Marie Studer will be one of the Soprano singers in the ACHS Choir's Spring Concert Thursday, May 16, 2019. She is in eighth grade at ACMS and is the daughter of Rebecca and Chris Studer of Columbia.

She says, "When I first started singing I was five years old. I love that I can feel free when singing.

"I would like to thank my family for supporting me. I would also like to thank Mrs. Franklin for helping me accomplish some of my short term choir goals.

"I have been in Choir for two years and I am 15 years old. I hope to see you at Columbia United Methodist Church at 7pm on the 16th. I hope you enjoy it!"

Jury recommends 15 years for Marijuana cultivation

James H. Shell, age 54, was convicted of Marijuana Cultivation and of being a First-Degree Persistent Felony Offender in Casey County Circuit Court Monday, May 6, 2019.

Plants had been spotted growing in an area near Bryant Ridge Road in Casey County. Investigators discovered 409 Marijuana plants and several items of evidence which linked Shell to the marijuana. Testimony at trial revealed that the plants had an estimated street value in excess of $818,000, with the potential to produce over 400 pounds of processed marijuana.

The jury recommended that he serve fifteen (15) years in prison.
