Robert Palmer to be LWC director of bands
 2025-06-09 - Columbia, KY - Photo courtesy Lindsey Wilson College. Robert Palmer, above, says that he and his wife, Bekah, are excited about living in Southcentral Kentucky, especially because of the region's reputation for fielding some of the best high school bands in the commonwealth.
"It is such a wonderful opportunity to be in the heart of high school band country, where I will get to interact with other band professionals, especially the Adair County High School Band," said Palmer. "I've known of the Adair County High School Band for decades, and I have nothing but respect for their world-class program."

Grant says, "We are proud to announce that our total for the 2025 WHAS Crusade For Children is $64,971.33! That total is the most we have ever raised in one year, and is 30.41% over last year!"

High water level pushes NCL tournament to fall
 2025-06-08 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Last weekend was supposed to have showcased the 2025 National Crappie League (NCL) National Championship here, but the water is still too high at Green River as well as all regional lakes. This is the scene at Holmes Bend Boar Dock and Marina when boats should have been lining up but water levels were too high. Due to lake levels and ramp closures, the tournament has been reschedule for Fall 2025.
