ACHS senior is new graduate of GSA Drama program

Emma Grider became a graduate of the Drama program of The Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts (GSA) during the summer break. Student artists from every region of the commonwealth took part at The University of Kentucky from June 23 to July 13. During their three-week stay, more than 250 student artists from 53 counties were immersed in a rigorous schedule of daily seminars, master-classes, lectures, hands-on workshops and field trips to regional arts attractions.

Green River Animal Shelter Director Tammy Campbell writes, “This pretty lady is up for adoption - she is a Heeler mix, a year old, great on a leash. she is spayed, house broken but is NOT good with smaller dogs nor cats. $25.00 adoption fee.” GRAS has plenty of cats right now if a dog is not what your family needs. We are open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am-4pmCT and on Saturday from 10am-2pmCT. GRAS is closed Monday, Thursday, and Sunday. For more information call (270) 385-9655.

Dr. Michael Carter gives traditional first Chapel presentation

Campbellsville University President Dr. Michael V. Carter will be the first speaker at the university's chapel service on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville, Ky.

All chapel services on campus are open to the public free of charge.

Carter is in his 21st year as president of Campbellsville University, a position he has held since 1999.

Blackbirds back to school

Wish we knew exactly what part of corn tassels these Blackbirds are after in the corn crop on the campus of Adair County Public Schools. They'd light right on the tops and balance there. They would take flight when humans got near, not wanting to explain themselves.
