Mighty old Elm skeleton dropping limbs on street 2019-08-23 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Cali Booth's photos of storm damage this week reminded me of this huge Elm tree we're losing on East Fortune Street in Columbia - not from this current storm season, but maybe one last year. The tree looks like it was hit by lightening from the way the trunk split open. I say we're losing it when actually the tree has lost its life, but the skeleton remains, dropping limbs on the street occasionally.
