Crop Scouting FFA students leading the Pledge

Adair County High School FFA Crop Scouting students were in the spotlight at the August School Board meeting and led the Pledge to open the session. They will be in Crop Scouting competition, an agronomy and plant pathology based contest, in Iowa Monday, August 26, 2019. Their teacher, Kirby Hancock, at left, introduced them - Rebecca Heuser, Heidi McGrady, Coleton Wall, Jeanene Pike, and Hayden Hancock. Those who are not pictured, but are on the team and will be attending include Ty Cheatham, and Elizabeth Stamper.

Campbellsville University to begin classes in India in 2020
 2019-08-25 - Taylor County, KY - Photo by Joshua Williams. An honorary Doctorate of Global Entrepreneurial Leadership was awarded to Palla Pedda Subbarayudu of Hyderabad, India who will be providing new classrooms and offices in downtown Hyderabad when CU initiates its programs in India starting in January 2020. Palla began his career with a Christian organization that developed agriculture land and gave it away to poor families. He was the first person in his region to receive the coveted National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development Certificate - opening the way for hundreds of thousands of farmers to enter agriculture business. Following his tenure with the Bank of India, he became a leader in private agriculture development projects. The presentation was made by Dr. Michael V. Carter, left, president of Campbellsville University, and Henry Lee, chair of the university's Board of Trustees, at right. Dr. Donna Hedgepath, provost and vice president for academic affairs, is in back.

Birds of Kentucky: American Robin

All About Birds has this to say about American Robins: "Robins eat different types of food depending on the time of day: more earthworms in the morning and more fruit later in the day. Because the robin forages largely on lawns, it is vulnerable to pesticide poisoning and can be an important indicator of chemical pollution."
