2019-08-26 - Clarksville, IN - Photo by Pen.
Just across the river from downtown Louisville, the Falls of the Ohio state park has 390-million-year-old fossil beds that "are among the largest, naturally exposed, Devonian fossil beds in the world." You can't take them home, but exploration among the fossil beds is encouraged. More info at fallsoftheohio.org.

Sunset on the historic Adair Courthouse clock tower

2019-08-26 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Clouds parted long enough for late day sun to spotlight the historic Adair County Courthouse clock tower. Every time I take a moment to appreciate this landmark in the center of Columbia I wonder if there can be funds discovered for restoration. I appreciated a recent discussion with forward-thinking ACMS student Brody Blair who would also like to see it kept up. He had the idea that tours for a small fee would be a good way to raise money. This view is from West Fortune Street beside Columbia United Methodist Church. - LW
