Educators Dr. Rodney White and his wife Donna Banks White retired home to Adair County and are contributing their energies to projects needing help, especially the Adair Heritage Association project of helping restore the county's only Rosenwald School, Flatwoods Grade Center. Today, they led a team of Lindsey Wilson College volunteers who gave their energies to the project. Before going to work, Dr. White gave a brief lesson on what the school was and the significance of the Rosenwald connection. Several groups volunteered during in the Day of Caring 2019-09-25 - Adair County, KY - Photo from City Hall, Columbia, KY. The Day of Caring, a time of service to others, resulted in "a wonderful turnout from our local churches as well as individuals who just showed up to be a part of this special day," said Mayor Pam Hoots. The day was planned in advance so citizens could ask for help where needed and groups like this one could organize to help. More than one ramp was built during the day.
