More rain expected, report any road problems

This Ray Abrell Road damage was reported by a driver who said there was no hole in the road in the morning, and at 3:30pm it was there. Two dump trucks full of rock and work by the Adair County Road Department made the road passable again before dark. Among those pictured are Road Foreman Barry Hamlett, John Denton, Chris Rowe and Phillip Cowan, driving the truck. Keep an eye out for holes in roadways, water over roadways, etc., as more rain is expected! If you see something that needs to be checked out, call 911, the Adair County Judges Office 270-384-4703, or your Magistrate. Remember to turn around, don't drown when you see water over the road.

Heavy rains causing roads to wash out

Message from Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan, "We are expecting another three inches of rain as this week comes to a close so please be aware of your surroundings and report any road problems. Roads are washing out. The pictures here represent the type of problems that are happening from too much water over and under our roadways. We were notified of this about 3:30 in the afternoon and I'm happy to report the road was passable again by dark. Proud of our road crew!"

Decisions made now affect the rest of lives

Breakfast with the Boys met recently at Taylor County Intermediate School. Officer Hedgespeth spoke to and visited with the boys during the meeting. He shared about his career and discussed with the students how the decisions they make now, even while in elementary, can affect the rest of their lives. Officer Hedgespeth answered individual questions they had. Breakfast with the Boys meets once monthly with TCIS Guidance Counselor Christy Parks.
