Emergency Management Director Mike Keltner reports that the Adair County Courthouse Annex is open for shelter. Severe storms are expected to be past Adair County by 8pmCT. The Farmers Market on the Square was able to maintain hours today with steady business until hard rains came after the noon hour. We had a brief time of sunshine and now, 2pmCT, we are heading into stormy skies. Ann Young helped hand out Senior 2020 signs - 50 left 2020-04-24 - Columbia - Photo by Andrea Waggener. Adair County High School 2020 Seniors were given signs for their yards by a group who wanted to do something to help them in this very strange school year of the Coronavirus. There were pledges for the cost of all 186 senior signs. On the first day of distribution over 120 signs had been picked up for these students. The following individuals and businesses donated to make sure that each senior would receive a free yard sign: Rita Murrell, Shad and Tabitha Giles, Valerie Adams, Teresa Roy, Trifecta Print & Design, Hilltop Auto, FP and Libby Farmer, Kim Dykes, Mark and Jennifer Jones, Amy Roy Keys, Tralisa Foster, Betty Burris, Donna Hancock and The Adair Progress, Jessica Thomas, Ann Melton, Casi Blair, Bank of Columbia, Barry and Angie Hixson, Alvina Frazier, Kimberli Brian, Randy and Janella Brown, Vicky Leibeck-Owsley, Brent and Shannon Campbell, Krishana Jessie, Betty Sue Feese, Anthony and Keena Grant, Crystal Turner and Joanne and Mike Payne.
