Old negatives turned into fresh memories

Drug education center at Chamber of Commerce meeting

As a part of the Mayor's State of the City report to the business community at the February Chamber of Commerce meeting, the Columbia Police Department brought the Substance Abuse Education trailer for people to tour. Part of the experience focuses on all the forms illegal drugs can be hidden and trafficked in like a water bottle with an invisible pocket. Common names and signs of abuse are shown. From left are CPD Chief Evan Burton with Officers Travis Bell and Trevor Foster who were giving tours and explanations of each area inside.

Tip line in memory of Cally is open to all

The Columbia Police Department substance abuse education trailer includes a framed picture of Cally Paige Wilson McFall (1995-2019) in whose memory the drug Tip Line is provided to the public. The wording around her picture reads, "TIP LINE, To report illegal drug activity call CALLY's Line 270-378-CALY (2259). Callers can remain anonymous. The Tip Line is sponsored by her mother, Stacey Hatcher Bishop of Community Medical Services.

Connor Loy named 5th Region Player of the Year

Senior Adair County guard Connor Loy (above center) has been named 5th Region Player of the Year by the 5th Region Coaches Association.

ACHS Basketball Head Coach Deron Breeze said, "With the career he has had there was no other possible choice for player of the year in the 5th Region."
