Mystery: Who is the man praying in this photo?
2020-11-11 - Columbia, KY - Photo from CM keepsake photo archives.
Joe Hare did some detective work on the large photo from earlier today, checking the shadows for time of day, and finding this service from years past is likely a Memorial Day program at the Monument.
Probably from the late 1970s, his question for readers is, "Do you think that is Bro. Doug Mosley leading the prayer?"
The man praying in the group picture has been blown up and cropped for this post in case his identity can be added. Unfortunately, the old photo had no writing on the back to give a clue as to the year nor any names.

A VFW ceremony in the past
2020-11-11 - Columbia, KY - Photo from past photo collections. Normally there is a large crowd and a ceremony honoring the Veterans, however, this year in the pandemic, it is limited to keep down the spread of the Coronavirus. This event is from years ago before the VFW building moved from the fairgrounds site to its present location on Green Hills Road, and is from back before the Extension Office was located on the property next to it. The little house with the U-shaped driveway looks quite a bit different from the Extension buildings on that site now.
