Rates of Toll on the Columbia Turnpike

For the recent writer who wished to know how much it cost, Vonnie sends this listing of the various tolls charged on the Muldrow's Hill, Campbellsville, and Columbia Turnpike Road Company. At Gate No. 6, for the Road and Russell's Creek Bridge. She reminds us that there's much more history to be treasured, documented at the Trabue Russell House in Columbia.

Begonia still blooming on the CofC porch

The pretty coral Begonia planted and tended by Debbie Dunn is still blooming on the front porch of the Chamber of Commerce in Columbia. The Chamber continues to be open by phone and email and text until the pandemic ends.

Unload here until noon Saturday

Until noon today, Saturday, November 14, 2020, you can pull into the big garage and get your hazardous waste unloaded for you. When you turn onto Service Road, the little sign in the middle directs you to pull down to the right, into the open garage door. There was no waiting at 9:30am. It felt great to get old paint cans delivered to people who know how to dispose of it without hurting the earth.

Fall happened this week

One sunny, warm day the red leaves were hanging on the tree limbs. The weather changed overnight to windy and rainy and the next day the red leaves were carpeting the ground underneath.
