Over the Thanksgiving holiday, food items were shared from traditional dishes, including one early sweet dessert, Black Cake. It came up in JIM's history notes in 2017 and again this season in Mike Watson's history article. Columbia native Ann Curtis writes, "Here is my grandmother Maude Sutton Sandusky’s recipe for Black Cake. She was the mother of Effie Heskamp and my namesake (1883-1934), Ann Sutton Heskamp Curtis."
