Spears appointed acting president at Campbellsville University

Dr. H. Keith Spears, senior vice president and assistant to the president at Campbellsville University, has been appointed acting president for the university following the recent retirement of Dr. Michael V. Carter.

Board of Trustees Chairman Henry Lee said, "He is the right person for this critical time for the university." Spears has served CU since 2009.

Kentucky Color: Stalactites and Stalagmites

Billy Joe writes, "Every walk in the woods can reveal something new and wondrous. Stalactites and Stalagmites on top of the ground, on top of a hill overlooking Creelsboro. Who would have thought it?

Calling on all local geologists to weigh in on this most rare anomaly. And yes, I put it in the old woven wire fence for the purpose of taking the picture. A thumb and a half are better than a thumb but not nearly as good as two thumbs for holding and picture taking, simultaneously!"

Donation delivered to Bowling Park

Bill Lagermann delivered a check to Winston Harbison at Bowling Park for the Food Bank from Red Lick United Methodist Church. The members of the Red Lick congregation also donated to the Hoss 99.1 fund drive benefitting the residents at both local nursing homes. The church has been unable to hold services, but wanted to share some Christmas cheer with the community.
