Pam Shearer says her Christmas ornaments are special to her - she has four trees. All the ornaments on the trees were given to her over the years. To her surprise, she said she has received several ornaments this year from her son Matt’s closest high school and college friends.

Kentucky Color: Squirrel Ladder

This old Black Locust has heart rot and the Bracket Fungi is feasting on it. It is easy to see why it is often called Shelf Fungi. These fungi seem to be hard as the wood itself and appear to be an extension of the bark. In my imaginings, I can plainly see it acting as a "Squirrel ladder"!
