Former Adair County resident and LWC alum Amanda Jean Alley received notification from the Editor and Staff of The New York Times-Modern Love column that her Tiny Love Story was printed in today's paper edition for Monday, January 11, 2021.

Ice in forecast, probably no snow for most

Bowling Green TV weather is predicting that southern Adair County may get a little snow, south of the Cumberland Parkway, tonight, with temperatures below freezing. A storm is coming out of the southwest which is bringing some snow. Big Dawg manager Larry Smith says that is the only weather we should be listening to since that's the direction our weather primarily comes from.

Congratulations to Robert Montgomery

Mayor Pam Hoots asks everyone to join in congratulating Robert Montgomery on his recent retirement from the City of Columbia Sanitation Department. Robert has been with the city since January of 2004.

He is pictured in this CM archive photo carrying the box with cash and checks raised by local firemen to the turn-in at Adair County High School for the 2006 Crusade for Children. That year the Columbia, Breeding and Knifley fire departments raised nearly $36,000.

Haley writes, "This is a photo of our brindle pug, Pugsley (Usually comes to his nickname Pugs). He has been missing since Sunday, January 3, 2021. We are putting out a $100 reward for any information leading to Pugsley or someone who may have him. All of us, including his brother Buster, are missing him so very much! Bulldog still here, needs a home

Green River Animal Shelter writes, "This is Bulldog he is still here - he is around 4 months old now he isn't as hateful as he was, lol. He loves can food and basically doing his own thing and being left alone. He is out of his cage all day, he lays on top of it and goes in his cage at closing time, he is very very playful he is litter box trained. $30.00 adoption fee pays to have him neutered when he reaches 6 months of age or older.
