Birds of Kentucky: White-throated Sparrow

2021-01-16 - Central Kentucky - Photo by Pen.
All About Birds calls the white-throated sparrow "a great entree into the world of birdsong, with their pretty, wavering whistle of Oh-sweet-Canada. These forest sparrows breed mostly across Canada, but they’re familiar winter birds across most of eastern and southern North America and California."

And a little child will lead them

2021-01-15 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Monica Howard.
Kayla Stockton writes, "In a world full of uncertainty and anxiety, hate and harsh words, it’s sometimes hard to find the positive. While we will never all get along or see eye to eye, I feel if we all tried to follow this girl's dream, the world would be a better place. Let’s be better and a little more like Kharli."

Kayla's daughter's homework reads, "I have a dream... for everybody to be friends." - Kharli. Her teacher, Monica Howard, sent the picture to Kayla Tuesday. They were working on Martin Luther King, Jr lessons.

Kharli's dream reminds us of Isaiah 11:6 (NIV), "The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them."
