Roads are still icy and slick Tuesday afternoon
2021-02-16 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Vicky Pike. Hwy 55 this afternoon, Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Vicky writes, "The overpass above the Cumberland Parkway looking north shows how serious the roads are this afternoon. Further out toward the Flatwoods is more ice covered. I would not suggest unless you have to that you get out. I was loaded with 1200 lbs of feed for the girls and creeping along. The Parkway, which is the Priority 1 Route is moving along. Road crews are doing the very best they can. Give them time to do all they can. It's been snowing again here for the last hour."

Postcards from LWC: Annika Lang
2021-02-16 - Germany - Photo by Annika Lang. By Dakota Smith
ISP #postcardsfromlindsey would like to present Annika Lang from Germany. Annika stated that she hasn't had to make many adjustments in her moving to LWC. She chose to come to LWC because the people are so nice, she liked the campus, and really enjoys the track team.
The most interesting place she has visited in Columbia is Walmart because she is not used to seeing guns on display in department stores. Christmas is Annika's favorite tradition in Germany, which isn't celebrated much differently as the US. However, in Germany, St. Nicholas is accompanied by Krampus who helps him teach naughty kids a hard lesson. Please welcome Annika if you see her on campus! Stay safe and warm!
