Birds of Kentucky: Killdeer

According to the All About Birds entry on the Killdeer, Killdeer are year-round residents of Kentucky. Although they're often seen on dry land, the Killdeer is actually a proficient swimmer. Adults swim well in swift-flowing water, and chicks can swim across small streams.

Adair County Middle School is excited to announce that Bailey Watts, an 8th Grader at ACMS, recently won the 8th Grade State Language Arts Competition at the Junior National Beta Club Convention for KY.
