Scenic Kentucky: Herrington Lake 2021-02-26 - Central Kentucky - Photo by Evan Waggener. An unnamed stream flows into Herrington Lake, not far from Gwinn Island. According to Wikipedia, Herrington Lake is the deepest lake in the state of Kentucky, With a maximum depth of 249 feet (76 m). Dix Dam, the dam that made the lake, was the largest earth-filled dam in the world at the time, and considered to be a major engineering feat.
