Location for new KFC

Col. Sanders is coming to Columbia. The flags mark the lot where the new KFC site has been approved by the Columbia Planning and Zoning board. The location of the new restaurant will be in the Walmart shopping center, Dohoney Trace. According to Mayor Pam Hoots, it will be right in front of Walmart, beside Burger King, and projects up to 20 new jobs.

Congratulations Dr. Brad Stone!

Beginning June 2021, educator and Adair County native Dr. Brad Elliott Stone will be Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Shared Governance, and Graduate Education for the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts at Loyola Marymount University.

Dr. Stone is named in the Princeton Review Top 300 Professors in America. His research in contemporary continental philosophy is internationally recognized. A 1998 Fulbright Scholar at the University of Salamanca, Spain, he seeks international educational opportunities in order to create new knowledge for the 21st Century globalized world.

Columbia Police Chief Sgt. Jr. Murphy receives the badge - and responsibility - of leading the department from retiring Chief Jason Cross. The badge reads Chief Columbia Police 501. Sgt. Murphy has been serving since 2003.
