Kentucky Color: Sliced Pound Cake?

Billy Joe writes, "Of all the things I ever expected to find in the deep, forested hollars of the Great Wooded South was not, a slice of pound cake! That was the first thing which popped into my mind but possessing the lightning quick scientific mind that I do, I immediately realized that that was an impossibility."
