City and County honor 911 Dispatchers

Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan and Columbia Mayor Pam Hoots came together Tuesday to proclaim April 12-17, 2021 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Columbia and Adair County.

Our 911 Dispatchers are the hero's behind the scenes. They are the lifeline to our emergency service organizations day in and day out. We are very thankful and appreciative of the job they do. Thank you to all of our 911 Dispatchers for a job well done. Pictured behind Judge Cowan and Mayor Hoots are 911 Director Jason Upchurch and Deputy Director Danna Burton.

Cookbook fundraiser to support Feeding America Program

Braylee Corbin (left) and Bailey Gabehart (right) will be on the front porch of ACES from 8amCT to NoonCT on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, helping with the ACES cookbook fundraiser for Adair County's Feeding America Program.

The cookbooks are on sale for $12 and include around 150 recipes submitted by the ACES faculty and staff (both current and retired). The proceeds from cookbook sales will go DIRECTLY to Adair County's Feeding America Program.

William writes, "As Robert and I sauntered through the valley of fire looking for pictures, I said that it would be great to get a picture of the big horn sheep that roam wild in the canyon. Just as I said it one topped the hill! Thats about as close as I could get with the lens that I had on. Do you see it?"
