Cat Zippy has his own phone, enjoys the auctions

2021-09-27 - New Columbia, Greater Bliss, Adair County, KY - Photo by Vicky Pike.
From the Pampered Angus Ranch news of the week, Miss Vicky writes, "Zippy’s hooked on watching Miss Betty too. He just hasn’t learned to bid yet. Our Saturday night activity, and Friday night too, watching live auctions. His rug came from Mammy's auction the night before this picture. Hadn’t gotten off the thing since I brought it in but to eat and do his business. It’s got a mermaid on it. We lead a terribly exciting life now that the oil drilling has slowed. He gets one phone and I get the other. Happy Fall Y’all."

Mushrooms of Kentucky: the Puffball returns

2021-09-26 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
The cats called my attention to the Puffball mushroom growing under their Maple tree. It must be a relative of the one that grew in almost the exact same spot last year. While this is nowhere near the size of the giant mushroom discovered a year ago by Earl Coffey, still, for downtown Columbia, we think this one is a pretty big deal.
