Scenic Adair County: pumpkin street

Once a year Richard and Mary Beth Phelps allow their grandchildren to take over the yard on Jamestown Street and fill it with their Ballou family pumpkins. This year, they will be donating from their pumpkin variety to help decorate downtown Columbia for the start of the SquareCrow season and the Downtown Days festival coming up the second weekend of October.

Work family sends good wishes to Rhonda Loy

Rhonda Bennett Loy, third from left, was treated to a special lunch and tons of hugs and good wishes from her work family at City Hall Thursday as she retired from her position as Columbia City Clerk. The position is being filled by Woody Sharpe. From left are: Sydney Clark, Tiffany Collins, Rhonda, Ann Marie Austin, Jada Atwood, Woody, and Mayor Pam. Extended work family good wishes also come from the Parks and Rec, Gas, and Sanitation department employees along with all the City Council members.

Fireworks and Pep Rally Kickoff LWC Homecoming Festivities

The Lindsey Wilson College community kicked off homecoming week with a fireworks show on the college's A.P. White Campus on Thursday night, September 30, 2021.

Sponsored by the LWC Student Government Association, the fireworks show and pep rally was bookened by music from the Blue Raider Marching Band, a few words from senior quarterback Cameron Dukes and spirited chants from the Blue Raider Cheerleaders.

Lindsey Wilson College celebrates Methodist heritage

The Lindsey Wilson College community celebrated its connection to The United Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, during the annual Church College Celebration Day. The ceremony included a message from Superintendent for the South Central District of the Kentucky Conference Rev. Mark Dickinson. In his sermon, he encouraged believers to persevere and wait for God during challenging times. The celebration was held as part of LWC 2021 Homecoming, October 1 and 2, 2021.
