2021-11-28 - Taylor County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener. Between the jet plane on the left and the silo rail on the right are great numbers of geese traveling south, flying over the Homeplace on Green River. You have to squint to see them in the photo. Looking at screen layout of future City Park design
2021-11-28 - downtown Columbia - Photo by innocent bystander. Richard Phelps called for a meeting in the near future of this group, pictured here a few months ago looking at landscape architect Darren Henson's proposed design for the City's 17-acre Burkesville Street Hurt property park. Grant monies are beginning to be identified which may allow for development to begin on the walking path. Committee members who share interests in heritage, history and preservation, are: Robert Flowers, Mary Anne Loy, Linda Waggener, Darren Henson, Richard Phelps, Chuck Rogers and Mayor Pam Hoots. Dreams for the park - as grants can be obtained - include: a walking track, play area, benches, a dog park, restrooms, native plantings, and some form of history documentation for educational purposes. Immediate short term goals include clearing the grounds, creating a half-mile walking trail and parking. The property is not open to the public at this time.

Flocking South
2021-11-27 - Adair Co., KY - Photo by Veronica Arnold. By Veronica Arnold
It's cold enough now, winter is almost upon us. The earth prepares for a well deserved rest. The birds begin their long arduous and dangerous journey south for better weather and greater chances of food.
Taken on black Friday I observed a flock of black colored birds flying South. (Look in the top left quarter of the frame) Fly safe feathered friends. We will be here for your return. I often think the V could be a good omen for victory or other good battles fought. Thankful and encouraged.
In Fairplay on the day after Thanksgiving.
