Birds of Kentucky: Mute Swans 2021-12-22 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Pen. A pair of mute swans showed up at the local reservoir recently. According to the All About Birds entry for Cygnus olor, "All of the Mute Swans in North America descended from swans imported from Europe from the mid 1800s through early 1900s to adorn large estates, city parks, and zoos. Luckey Jr., a check from the Hall Abston Estate to establish the Howard Abston Memorial Endowment Scholarship. The need- and merit-based scholarship will soon help Lindsey Wilson College nursing students from Cumberland and Clinton counties.
