He is originally from India, but he currently lives in Virginia. Sandesh chose to come to Lindsey because he really likes the course curriculum. The most interesting place he has been in the U.S. is Washington because, "It looks beautiful, and the weather is very pleasant." For Sandesh, the hardest adjustment he had to make when moving to the U.S. was the journey itself. Something he wants to share about his country is "Sankranti," which is a farmer's festival. Richard and Harper honored by KY State Police 2022-02-22 - Photo from the Kentucky State Police. Kentucky State Police Sergeant James Richard is retired and served 16 years with the agency. Trooper Jacob Harper serves at Post 15 Columbia. They received the lifesaving award during the 2021 Sworn Awards. Post 15 received a domestic violence call that a man was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Sgt. Richard and Trooper Harper responded and took action quickly. They placed the victim on the ground and used a belt as temporary tourniquet. As they were assisting him, a Columbia city police officer arrived with a tourniquet, which they applied to the victim's leg. The tourniquet helped significantly while waiting for an ambulance. The Adair County Emergency Medical Technician said the victim's injury was life threatening and the rapid application of the tourniquet helped save the victim. HonorThroughService.
