Monday guest recital at Campbellsville University 2022-04-02 - Taylor County, KY - Photo by Gerard Flanagan, CU Communications. Ming Ke, a traditional Chinese pipa player, is scheduled to perform at a guest recital Monday, April 4, at 8pmET in The Gheens Recital Hall, 210 University Drive, Campbellsville. Ke has appeared as a soloist with principal orchestras in China, Japan, Spain and the United States since she debuted in 1985, and has been described in the Cincinnati Enquirer as a performer whose performances "sparkle with grace and expression." Ke has also been described as a master interpreter of traditional and contemporary music for the pipa, a four stringed, pear-shaped instrument similar to the lute, mandolin or banjo.
