Original watercolor of Adair Co. Courthouse to be auctioned

Included in the items for sale in the Edmonton Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce Spring Radio Auction Fundraiser is a one of a kind original watercolor painting of the Columbia Courthouse by Metcalfe County Artist the late Jeannie Spears.

Tom McClendon with friends in broadcast

Tom McClendon, on the right, was recently with Jim Jackson and Larry Smith, at left, after the three broadcast friends had met for lunch at Knobbies Deli and walked back to the Big Dawg on Main Street in Campbellsville. Tom was killed in a head on collision in Casey County Monday evening while on his way home to Russell County.

Larry writes, "Tom McClendon was the man in charge of the July 4th Balloon event in Campbellsville and the former morning radio announcer for Q104 in Campbellsville - he will be missed by so many people."

New City dump truck at Franklin Motors

Dan Franklin and his son Daniel, center, delivered the newly ordered dump truck from Don Franklin Family Dealerships to City of Columbia employees this week. Tim Smith, at left, Columbia Street Department Supervisor, and Jerry Watson, the City Gas Department Supervisor, at right, picked up the new truck. It is much needed and will be put into immediate use.
