Men and Women's Soccer Continue MSC Play at Cumberlands

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's soccer teams travel to Mid-South Conference competitor Cumberlands (Ky.) on Tuesday. First kick for the women's match is scheduled for 4pmCT, followed by the men at 6:30pmCT at the UC Soccer Complex, 141 N 11th St, Williamsburg, KY.


The No. 15-ranked Blue Raider women (3-2-1, 1-0 MSC) defeated MSC rival Campbellsville 1-0 on Wednesday at Finley Stadium. After a change of venues due to rain, the Blue Raiders took home a win with a goal coming from Alicia Thoresen in the 59th minute. Thoresen leads the Blue Raiders with three goals so far this season.

Cumberlands (10-1, 1-0 MSC) returns to Williamsburg after a 3-1 victory over Georgetown (Ky.) on Tuesday. The Patriots have scored 40 goals this season with Sara Randez and Jenna Rockwell leading the attack with eight goals each.

Tonight's matchup is the 33rd meeting between the two teams. Lindsey Wilson is 29-3-0 all-time in the series. The two teams last met at Walter S. Reuling Stadium on October 20, 2017, where the Patriots defeated the Blue Raiders 2-0.

The No. 9-ranked Lindsey Wilson men (7-1-1, 1-0 MSC) opened up conference play on Friday night with a 6-1 victory over Campbellsville. Neville Morgan opened the scoring in the 29th minute with an impressive free kick from just beyond the 18-yard box. Andrew Revanales netted three goals in the match to record his second hat-trick this season and his third match as a Blue Raider with three or more goals. Rainer De Jesus and Karim Jouini also netted one goal each in the match.

Cumberlands (4-1-2, 1-0 MSC) picked up a 7-0 road victory over Georgetown on Tuesday to open conference play. The Patriots have slotted 24 goals this season with Marvin van der Made leading the attack with seven goals.

Tonight's matchup is the 36th meeting between the two programs. LWC holds a 32-1-2 record in the series. The two programs also met last season on October 20, where the Blue Raiders defeated the Patriots 7-0 at home.
