Agnes L. Carrithers, 98, Burkesville, KY (1919-2018) She was of Church of Christ faith, a member of Waterford Church of Christ, and a Component Assembly Worker for General Electric. Mrs. Agnes L. (Spelic) Carrithers of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at The Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 98 years, 10 months, and 23 days. The Funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 4pmCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main St, Burkesville, KY, Kentucky with Dr. Mark Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends after 1pmCT on Sunday, September 23, until the funeral hour. A Graveside service will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 1pmCT (2pmET) at the Highland Memory Gardens, 279 Landis Lane, Mt. Washington, KY, with Bro. Joe Stone officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Memory Gardens. Agnes Carrithers was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday, October 28, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Purtle) Spelic. She was of Church of Christ faith, a member of Waterford Church of Christ, and a Component Assembly Worker for General Electric. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Carrithers, and brothers, Joseph Spelic, Charles Spelic, Edward Spelic, and William Spelic. She is survived by her son, Lester Owen (and Patricia) Carrithers of Morganfield, Kentucky, her daughter, Bonita Rae (and Michael) Humphrey of Kettle, Kentucky, three grandchildren, Brian C. Humphrey, Ross David Carrithers, Amanda L. Carrithers, three great-grandchildren, Dominic Gomez, Gabriel Humphrey, Will Humphrey, and several nieces and nephews. In Lieu of flowers, contributions appreciated to Norton Children's Hospital in her memory, c/o Kosair Charities, 982 Eastern Parkway, Louisville, KY, (502) 637-7696.
