Roy Driver, 82, Taylor County, KY (1936-2018)

After more than thirty-two years of service Roy retired from General Motors as a master mechanic and he was a member of the United Automobile Workers. His passion for collecting Buick Rivieras led to him being a founding member of the Riviera Owners Association. When Roy wasn't with his cars or his family he could be found in his garden. He was a member of the Grace Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.

Roy Driver of Campbellsville, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio at age 82.

Funeral services will be at 10amCT/11amET Friday, September 14, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY by Bro. Bill Gray and Bro. Bob Grammer. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7pmCT/5-8pmET Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the funeral home.



Roy Driver, 82, Taylor County, KY (1936-2018)

The son of the late Leonard Driver and Bessie Cropper Driver, he was born March 22, 1936, in Monroe County, KY. He died at 6:14amET Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio at age 82.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Grace Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.

After more than thirty-two years of service Roy retired from General Motors as a master mechanic and he was a member of the United Automobile Workers. His passion for collecting Buick Rivieras led to him being a founding member of the Riviera Owners Association. When Roy wasn't with his cars or his family he could be found in his garden.

He united in marriage to Joan Matney March 28, 1960.

Survivors are
  • His wife, Joan Driver of Campbellsville

  • One son and one daughter - Michael Driver and wife, Lauren of Hebron and Robin Haverty and husband, Jeff of Madison, Alabama

  • Six grandchildren - Elijah Driver, Isaiah Driver and Gabriel Driver of Hebron and Kaitlyn Haverty, McKayla Haverty and Kyler Haverty of Madison, Alabama

  • One sister, Mary Burgess of Gamaliel

  • Two sisters-in-law - Nancy O'Banion and husband, Harold of Campbellsville and Shirley Marcum and husband, Tommy of Greensburg

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister - Shelvy Driver, Vernice Driver, Arthur Driver, Sylvia Gregory and a sister in infancy, Mary Margaret Driver.
