Leonard Dewey Wilson, 77, Russell Co., KY (1940-2018)

He was a logger and a member of Mt. Eden Baptist Church. He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the patriarch of a respected Russell County, KY, family, the son of the late Hughie & Ida Mae Hart Wilson. His wife, Nadean Wilson, survives. With his death, two of the eight children born to Hughie & Ida Wilson survive. He leaves eight direct living descendants.

Leonard Dewey Wilson, 77, of Russell Springs, died Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY. Funeral service for Leonard Dewey Wilson will be at 1pmCT, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Barry Wilson and Bro. Steve Wilson officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Friday, August 31, 2018, and after 8amCT Saturday at the funeral home. Burial in the Salem Cemetery, in Russell County, KY.

He was born October 29, 1940 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Hughie & Ida Mae Hart Wilson. He died Monday August 27, 2018, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 77 years, nine months, and 29 days.

He was a logger and a member of Mt. Eden Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Frank, & Leon Wilson; and two sisters, Alice Whittle, and Bessie Meece.

He is survived by:
  • His wife - Nadean Wilson, Russell Springs, KY

  • His two children - Connie Duke and her husband Russell, Russell Springs, KY; and Joseph Wilson and his wife, Kimberly, also ofRussell Springs

  • His two grandchildren - Ellie Anne Rooks Flanagan and her husband, Bobby; and Isaac Jordan Wilson, and his wife, Taylor

  • His four great grandchildren - Noah Christopher Flanagan, Julien Tate Flanagan, Remy Lincoln Flanagan, and Alexis Marie Wilson

  • His sister - Pam Bradshaw, Russell Springs, KY

  • His brother - Avis Wilson and his wife, Lola, Russell Springs, KY
