31 year old Columbia man arrested after vehicle, foot chase

Incident occurred at just after midday, today, Monday, August 27, 2018. ACSO Deputy Brandon Hitch locates suspect with outstanding arrest warrants in black Jeep on on Carrie Bolin Drive, asks suspect to stop. Suspect starts engine, flees striking another park vehicle, travels east on Russell Springs Road, turns on Christine Road to New Concord Road where he loses control, strikes tree, and attempts, unsuccessfully, to flee on foot. He was arrested, lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail, where he faces numerous allegations.
Note: An arrest is not a finding of guilt. An individual placed under arrest is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Adair County Sheriff's Office reports that Monday August 27,2018, at around 12:07pmCT, Adair County Sheriff Deputy Brandon Hitch was at a location on Carrie Bolin drive attempting to locate a male subject with arrest warrants, when he noticed a male subject setting in a black Jeep acting suspicious.



When Deputy Hitch approached the vehicle and asked the male to stop he started the vehicle and fled striking another parked vehicle.

Deputy Hitch pursued the vehicle and was able to get a visual on it. The vehicle traveled East on Russell Springs Road, turning onto Christine Road then traveled to New Concord Road when the operator of the vehicle lost control, striking a tree.

The male subject exited the vehicle and ran a short distance before he was detained.

Arrested was 31 year old Jeffrey Iames of Columbia, KY. Iames was charged with
Fleeing evading police in a motor vehicle 1st degree, wanton endangerment 1st degree, police officer; leaving the scene of a accident, reckless driving, fleeing evading police on foot 2nd degree, and driving without a license.
Iames was arrested and lodged in The Adair County Regional Jail by Deputy Brandon Hitch.

Jeep Liberty after crash on New Concord Road, Adair Co., KY

This black Jeep Liberty was involved in an alleged vehicle and foot chase after crashing at a point on New Concord Road, not far from Christine Road. After the crash, and a brief chase on foot, 31-year-old Jeffrey Iames was arrested and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by ACSO Deputy Brandon Hitch. Iames faces numerous charges involving the Monday, August 27, 2018 noontime incident, as well as facing outstanding arrest warrants.
