He was a retired courier for First National Bank of Russell Springs, KY. He was a member of a highly respected Russell County, KY, family. He was the son of the late Elfrod Allene Eads Riggins. His wife, Genice Riggins, survives. He leaves five direct living descendants.

Funeral service for Richard Lewis Riggins will be 4pmCT, Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY. Visitation 5pm-8pmCT, Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Bernard Funeral Home and after 8amCT, Thursday until funeral time at 4pmCT. Interment in the Bernard Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY.



Richard Lewis Riggins, 80, Russell Co., KY (1937-2018)


He was born September 5, 1937 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Elford & Allene Eads Riggins. He died Sunday, August 26, 2018, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 80 years, 11 monthsm and 21 days.

Richard was a retired courier for First National Bank of Russell Springs.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Floyd.

Survivors:
  • His wife: Genice Riggins, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two children: Tamara Goble, Prestonsburg, KY; and Ricky Vance Riggins, Russell Springs, KY

  • One grandchild: Amy Michelle Melson, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two great grandchildren: Ryan Melson, and Alexis Melson

  • One sister: Carol Parkey, Lexington, KY
