Dale Melton, 69, Adair County, KY (1948-2018)

Dale was a well-known block and brick layer and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of a widely known, influential and highly respected South Central Kentucky family. He was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident of Adair County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Herman & Madge Myers Melton. His wife, Ruth Hendrickson Melton, survives. He leaves four direct living descendants.

Dale Melton, 69, of Columbia, KY, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 7:30 P.M. at his home.

Funeral service will be Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 3pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, with Bro. Brent Piatt officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 3pmCT, Friday, August 3, 2018, at the funeral home.

He was born August 9, 1948, in Cumberland County, KY. He was the son o

the late Herman and Madge Myers Melton. He died Wednesday, August 1, 2018, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 23 days.

In addition to his parents, Herman & Madge Melton, he was preceded in death by a son, Andy Melton.

Dale was a well-known block and brick layer and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include:

  • His wife - Ruth Hendrickson Melton of Columbia, KY

  • Two sons - Terry Melton of Richmond, KY; and Ron and his wife Leslie Melton of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers - Gary and his wife Ann Melton of Columbia, KY; and Jerry and his wife Susan Melton of Russell Springs, KY

  • Two grandchildren - Elizabeth and her husband Chance Scholl, and Jonathan Melton

  • Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law - Brenda Trent of Brandenburg, KY; Barbara Giles of Columbia, KY; J.W. Hendrickson of Columbia, KY; and Dickie Hendrickson of Port Angeles, WA

  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
