He was a retired employee of Russell Sportswear in Russell Springs, KY. He was a native of Russell County, KY, the son of the late Gobel & Lydia Coffey Grant. His wife, Jo Bessie Grant, Columbia, KY, survives. He leaves a great family, numbering 44 direct living descendants and many kin. His final resting place will be at the Grant Cemetery near Glens Fork in Adair County, KY.

Edwin Grant, 84, of Columbia, KY, died Friday, July 20, 2018 at the TJ Health Columbia Hospital.

Funeral service for Edwin Grant will be 1:30pmCT, Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Leon Simpson officiating. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Sunday, up until funeral time at 1:30pmCT. Interment will be in the Grant Cemetery in Adair County.

Pallbearers: Michael Boggs, Ricky Joe Dykes, Tyler Grant, Brandon Stotts, Dalton Tucker, and Cody Grant.

Edwin Grant, 84, Adair County, KY (1934-2018)

Edwin Grant was the son of the late Gobel & Lydia Coffey Grant. He was born March 14, 1934, in Russell County, KY. He died Friday, July 20, 2018, at TJ Health/Columbia hospital, at the age of 84 years, four months, and six days. Edwin was a retired employee of Russell Sportswear.

Survivors are:
  • His wife: Jo Bessie Grant, Columbia, KY

  • His five children: Rita (Thomas) Boggs, Radcliff, KY; Vickie (Charles) Smith, Columbia, KY; Jimmy (Sherlon) Grant, Columbia, KY; Gary (Regina) Grant, Russell Springs, KY; and Karen Foster (Jason Long), Bowling Green, KY

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Twenty-four grandchildren

  • One great great grandchild
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters; Clorine Grider, Vernie Compton, Mildred Hawkins.
