Joyce Simpson Smith of Green County, KY, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Hosparus Health Inpatient Center of Louisville. She was 79 years, 11 months, and 8 days of age.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1pmCT Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY with burial to follow in the Hogard's Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Garrett Milby and Bro. Pat Smith officiating. Visitation is requested from 4-8pmCT Saturday at the funeral home and after 7amCT Sunday until time of the service.



Pallbearers: Justin Smith, Philip Tommy Judd, Kyle Milby, Todd Milby, Roy McCarol, Eddie Bailey, Ben Cox and David Perkins. Honorary Pallbearers: Tim Smith, Greg Smith, Ricky Smith, Sammy Smith, Barrett Simpson, Cameron Wright, Raymond Pendleton, Owen Thompson, Tim Harris and Bro. Larry Rowell.

The daughter of the late Thomas Howard Simpson and Bertha Edwards Simpson, she was born on Wednesday, August 10, 1938 in Green County and departed this life on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Hosparus Health Inpatient Center of Louisville. She was 79 years, 11 months, and 8 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, attended the Beech Grove Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Survived by
  • Her husband of 62 years, Herman "Junior" Smith of Green County, KY, having united in marriage on February 25, 1956

  • Two sons and daughters-in-law - Doug and Rhonda Smith of Greensburg, KY; and Dr. Mike and Susan Smith of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three grandchildren - Jetona Milby and her husband, Garrett of Campbellsville, KY; and Justin Smith and Ashley Smith both of Campbellsville

  • Two great-grandchildren - Wesley Choe Milby and Sumina Joy Milby both of Campbellsville, KY

  • A brother - Howard Simpson, Jr. of Glasgow, KY; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a brother: James Haskel Simpson.
