Phillip B. Stover, 82, Cumberland County, KY (1936-2018)

He was a member of the Waterview Church of Christ, business owner of Stover's Service Station in Marrowbone, KY, a retired bus driver of 32 years with the Cumberland County Board of Education and a farmer. He was a native of Willow Grove, Clay County, TN. He was a highly respected citizen. He was the son of the late Phillip Rudolph & Nell McClusky Stover, and is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Murley Stover, who survives. He leaves five direct living descendants.

Mr. Phillip Bryan Stover, 82, of Burkesville, KY passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville. The Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 10amCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. Burial will be in the Marrowbone Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 1pmCT, Friday, July 13, 2018 until the funeral hour on Saturday.



Phillip B. Stover, 82, Cumberland County, KY (1936-2018)


He was born in the Willow Grove Community of Clay County, TN, on Friday, June 5, 1936. He was the son of Phillip Rudolph & Nell McClusky Stover. He died Monday, July 9, 2018, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 82 years, one month, and four days.

He was a member of the Waterview Church of Christ, business owner of Stover's Service Station in Marrowbone, KY, a retired bus driver of 32 years with the Cumberland County Board of Education and a farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Carol Stover.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Murley Stover of Burkesville, KY, whom he wed on Thursday, January 24, 1957, and the following:
  • His two daughters: Carol (Robin) Sharp of Marrowbone, KY; and Kathy (Alvin) Garner of Burkesville, KY

  • His grandson: Andrew Sharp of Elkridge, MD

  • His two granddaughters: Brittany (Todd) Childress of Glasgow, KY; and Brooke Sharp of Marrowbone, KY

  • Plus a host of other relatives and many friends
